Launch of the Third Cohort of the National CEO Program

A press conference on the third batch of the National CEOs Program was held this morning at Al-Wahat Club in Al-Athaibah. The program aims to address the private sector’s need for talented businessmen and women who are equipped and empowered to meet the challenges of the local and regional marketplace, and create greater opportunities to drive economic growth.

As an initiative from the Diwan of Royal Court (DRC) through the Institute of Capability Development (ICD) in cooperation with the Public Private Partnership (PPP) Taskforce “Sharaka”, the National CEOs Program (NCP) seeks to shift the Sultanate’s economy from dependency on commodities to reliance on talent by growing a community of innovation business leadership practice. This community has access through the NCP to the tools, frameworks, leadership insights, and strategy processes that underpin the way the Game Changer giants (i.e Google, Amazon, Facebook…etc) are redefining key sectors of the global economy to create value on their own terms.

Through the third phase of this national project, the NCP Participants will be able to apply the learning-to-learn capabilities of a global Game Changer in ways that make sense to them, especially, that the NCP offers Participants a learning journey into practical leadership development aimed at delivering concrete, excellence-in-execution, value-added results. The NCP applies these learning-to-learn capabilities to drive continuous performance improvement into its own learning design.

The application process for NCP3 “Game Changers” will seek to identify potential business leadership talent across the Sultanate in a fresh way and to prototype ways to engage this newly identified talent pool with the NCP strategic project process. The aim behind all of this is for the NCP to work as widely as possible across the economy to find solutions to some of the blocks that currently prevent clearly defined opportunities from coming to fruition in ways that create jobs for Omanis and prosperity for the Sultanate.
